A Natural Tool to Manage Invasive Species
Goats are a naturally effective tool for managing invasive vegetation in forest ecosystems. They are browsers; this means they they evolved to eat leaves, twigs and bark, and prefer those types of food to low-lying vegetation. Goats are able to easily access steep hills, riparian banks, and other hard to reach areas, allowing for restoration work to take place in areas that it might not otherwise. Cannon Valley Graziers works with private landowners, local government, and other organizations to provide vegetation management on all scales.
