Solar Grazing
“Solar Grazing” is the practice of deploying livestock, specifically sheep, onto solar sites for the purpose of managing vegetation. By incorporating solar grazing into vegetation management plans, we are able to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, keep land in agricultural production, and save annual O/M costs. Since 2018, Cannon Valley Graziers (CVG) has been a pioneer of “Solar Grazing” in the upper midwest, successfully completing projects on thousands of acres of solar facilities throughout the region.
